At the awards ceremony he collected two first place trophies for two back-to-back first place wins this past month. Blake is thankful to all his sponsors, CF Motorsports and his coach Tom Prioli for helping him make this first season of racing his own kart a very successful one. He looks forward to the 2017 season when he hopes to upgrade his kart and join the New Hampshire racing series. In the meantime, he will continue racing over the winter in the F1 Indoor League.
Racing in a Storm
The remnants of Hurricane Matthew made for some very wet racing this Columbus Day weekend at F1 Outdoors in East Bridgewater. Despite the torrents of rain and high winds on Sunday, Blake finished in first place in Race #8 of the 2016 season for the F1 Outdoors Club. The wet track caused a lot of slipping, sliding and drifting. Huge puddles wreaked havoc with the kart's engine but also allowed for some big splashes! Blake worked with his racing coach Tom P. to keep his kart rolling and adjust his racing style for the wet weather, and it all paid off.
