Late Model Test Day for Blake

It was test day for Blake at Myrtle Beach Speedway. He got that late model logging some impressive lap times around the iconic track. Kept the car on the track the whole time. Don’t think that Rev Racing/Sunoco ride has ever gone so fast. Way to go Blake. Can’t wait for what’s next.. And of course a big thank-you to Rev. NASCAR, Jason Simmons and Sunoco.

WHAT DOES A TROPHY REALLY REPRESENT ?

Blake’s first podium finish in Round 6 of the 2020 Summer Shootout brought him his first Summer Shootout Trophy. Over the last five years of racing, Blake has collected a fair amount of hardware, including more than 30 trophies. They take up three shelves in his bedroom. Many were won in karting events across New England, as well as two regional karting championships in Massachusetts and New Hampshire. Other trophies were won in Legends races in the South. More important then the trophy is what each award represents: hard work, determination, focus as well as hours, weeks, months and years logged on the asphalt in all kinds of weather and conditions. But this week’s trophy will always have special significance to him as it is his first at the Shootout and the first Shootout trophy for the NASCAR D4D/ Rev team in 2020.

BLAKE PROVES HIMSELF A TOP FIVE SUMMER SHOOTOUT DRIVER IN ROUNDS 5 AND 6 AT CMS AND BRINGS HOME THE FIRST TROPHY FOR THE REV RACING/NASCAR D4D TEAM IN THE 2020 SHOOTOUT SEASON.

In Shootout Rounds 5 and 6 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Blake solidifies his position as a Top 5 Driver! In Round 5 Blake brought home another P1 in the Semi-Pro Heat Race (he also finished P1 in his heat in Round 4) That P1 heat finish translated into a Top 5 finish (P5) in the feature race that night. Things got even better in Round 6 on Tuesday. Despite engine trouble during qualifying and steering wheel trouble during the heat race, Blake moved from a starting position of P12 to a Semi-Pro Feature race finish of P3. His first podium finish in The Shootout and a major goal accomplishment for Blake! Blake has made it clear he is a CMS Top 5 Summer Shootout driver. He is also the first Rev Racing/ NASCAR Drive for Diversity driver to bring home a trophy for the team in the 2020 Summer Shootout season! As always, a big thank you to Blake’s sponsors for all their support. Could not do it without you. And another big big shout out to Blake’s spotter Wayne Leamon. THANK YOU WAYNE! Blake is looking forward to Round 7 after a one week break. During the break, Blake will be keeping his driving skills sharp at the GoPro karting track.

Blake takes top spot in Round Four Heat Race of Summer Shootout

Blake started on pole and held the spot for a P1 win in the Semi-Pro heats in Round Four of the CMS Summer Shootout last night. He defended his P1 heat position against the other 10 drivers throughout the entire heat race. Then the weather got crazy. After more than an hour of lightning and rain delays, out came the rain tires. That’s when the slippin’ and slidin’ started on the wet track. Blake started the feature race in P12 and worked his way up to P7 before a wreck sent him to the back of the 22 car field. With only 5 laps to go he worked his way back up to P15. On to Rounds 5 and 6 next Monday and Tuesday and let’s hope for some better weather!
